Training and courses

OPHI offers a range of training materials and courses for anyone interested in multidimensional measures of poverty and wellbeing. OPHI offers an annual two week in-person Summer School; a series of short online Executive Education programmes; two free self-paced online training courses - a MOOC in English, French, Spanish, Russian and Arabic and a free online Training Portal. OPHI is based in the Oxford Department of Interntional Development at the University of Oxford and is involved with teaching a module on poverty within the MPhil in Development Studies.

OPHI Advanced Course

The purpose of this one-week Advanced Course is to equip existing users of Multidimensional Poverty Indices (MPIs) or other Alkire-Foster-based measures with additional analytical tools and approaches to deepen their understanding of multidimensional poverty.

OPHI Summer School

The annual OPHI Summer School is aimed at those who are working on, or actively interested in gaining skills in multidimensional poverty measurement, particularly professional staff of national offices of statistics and government ministries that deal with poverty reduction, professionals from international development institutions, academics, and doctoral students.
