Multidimensional Poverty in Iraq 2024: Analytical Report

National MPI Reports

Iraq’s National MPI is a long-term official national measure of multidimensional poverty that offers headline national statistics which can also be unpacked and disaggregated by rural/urban area, region, governorate, household size, education level of the household head and household income to highlight which groups are among the poorest. The estimates are based on the most recent Iraq Household Social and Economic Survey 2023-2024 (IHSES 3) which was carried out by the Commission of Statistics and Geographic Information Systems (CSGIS) and the Kurdistan Region Statistics Office (KRSO) with the support of the World Bank. The National MPI and its report was developed in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI).
