Índice de Pobreza Multidimensional (IPM)
The Costa Rica MPI was launched in October 2015 by the Ministry of Social Inclusion and Human Development and the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC). The national MPI was developed with the support of OPHI and Horizonte Positivo, a non-governmental organisation from the private sector focused on promoting sustainable development. The MPI was based on Costa Rica's National Household Survey, Encuesta Nacional de Hogares (ENAHO), which is conducted annually. Using this data, the first report calculated the incidence of poverty dating back to 2010. The MPI was used to inform budget allocation in social spending.
Costa Rica's MPI has been updated annually since 2015. Subsequent publications can be found on the INEC website in the following locations:
