Maya is the Head of Communications at OPHI and is responsible for sharing the research and outreach work of OPHI through broadcast, digital and print media, social media and events. She works towards raising the visibility of multidimensional poverty measurement globally. She advises national governments and partner organisations on communications strategy and has worked with the United Nations Development Programme Human Development Report Office on the communications for the global Multidimensional Poverty Index report since 2019.

Prior to OPHI, Maya worked in alumni relations at the University of Oxford for ten years and has run the global events programme for the University of Oxford Alumni Office.
