Recording of the launch of the Global Multidimensional Poverty Index Report 2024

04 November 2024

Jointly released by UNDP and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) on 17 October, the Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) Report 2024: Poverty Amidst Conflict features data from 112 countries covering 1,359 subnational regions and considers the intersection of poverty and violent conflict. Through a comparison of global MPI indicators in conflict-affected and non-conflict countries, this report aims to shed light on the compounding challenges faced by those living in poverty and conflict simultaneously.

This global launch event, taking place in Bangkok, Thailand on 4 November, marks the first time a global launch event for the MPI report is organized outside of the UN Headquarters in New York, representing an effort to foster a global conversation around the report’s critical findings.
