The Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and OPHI, are delighted to organize the policy panel 'Policies against poverty in all its forms: the MPI in Morocco' on 4 July 2024. The panelists will include representatives of the High Commission for Planning of Morocco (HCP), the National Observatory of Human Development (ONDH), the United Nations Development Programme (PNUD), and a senior representative from the Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences (AIRESS).

This event is a part of the OPHI Summer School on Multidimensional Poverty Measurement and Analysis 2024 organised by OPHI and hosted by the AIRESS, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Morocco.

Amidst rising crises, addressing SDG 1 by lifting people out of poverty in all its dimensions remains a priority for the Moroccan government. This policy panel will discuss the planning and recent update of the Moroccan Multidimensional Poverty Index, and its use for policy.

The OPHI Summer School provides a technical introduction to multidimensional poverty measurement using the Alkire-Foster (AF) method, and shares examples of its practical applications.

*The event is open to the public and will be multilingual in French and English, but without translation. The zoom registration link will be published here in due course.
