New OPHI WP by Alkire-Foster: Dimensional and Distributional Contributions to Multidimensional Poverty

OPHI has just published a new Working Paper by Sabina Alkire and James Foster. In the paper, entitled Dimensional and Distributional Contributions to Multidimensional Poverty (pdf), the authors look at how inequality among people identified as multidimensionally poor relates to overall levels of multidimensional poverty. Alkire and Foster propose an axiom, applicable to multidimensional poverty measures, that specifies conditions under which poverty must fall as inequality among the poor decreases. Read more…
