Latest MPI results: Ecuador MPI 2024

In December 2024/January 2025, Ecuador's Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos (INEC) published the results of the 2024 Encuesta Nacional de Empleo, Desempleo y Subempleo (ENEMDU). This report, which is published annually, calculates Ecuador's national MPI for 2024.

Previous results

The Ecuador MPI was launched in a ceremony by the President Rafael Correa on 5 Feb 2016. INEC have since published estimates of multidimensional poverty annually.

Poverty Cut-Off: A person is considered poor if they are deprived in a third of more of the 12 weighted indicators.

Global MPI

The annual global MPI produced by the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative in partnership with the Human Development Report Office of the United Nations Development Programme is an internationally comparable index of acute multidimensional poverty.
