This paper presents a multidimensional energy poverty index at departmental level for Colombia using the Alkire and Foster method. The approach implies a broader notion of well-being that keeps attention on what people can be or do with access to energy. The access and quality of energy sources are enablers of some basic functionings or achievements of people. The achievements are measured at household level, through the national quality of life survey, but the index is also enriched with territorial equipment that uses energy and improves well-being. For 2022, the headcount ratio at national level was 18.5%, intensity of poverty was 46.9% and adjusted headcount ratio was 0.087. However, there are important population and geographic gaps.
