Gender Dimensions of Forced Displacement Launch Event
This launch event, organised by the World Bank, will share the new results from the Gender Dimensions of Forced Displacement (GDFD) programme examining multidimensional poverty, livelihoods, gender norms and intimate partner violence.
How does forced displacement affect women and men differently? And how should policy and programme design and implementation reflect these differences? The World Bank, with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, has generated important new insights on these questions through a major programme of research. The high-level event will bring together researchers, civil society, and global leaders to discuss the policy and programming implications of this research program. The event will be opened by Mari Pangestu, World Bank Managing Director of Development Policy and Partnerships and will include David Miliband, the President and Chief Executive of International Rescue Committee (IRC).
