The Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network held its third Annual Meeting in Cartagena, Colombia, on 2 - 3 June 2015. High-level Government representatives from the Network's more than 40 member countries participated. 

The videos and interviews from the Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network meeting that took place in the summer of 2015 in Cartagena, Colombia are now available. The videos feature the keynote speech from Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, a round table discussion with Colombian ministers working on that country’s Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI), and a presentation by OPHI Director Sabina Alkire on the role of the Global MPI for the Sustainable Development Goals

Delegates from countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean gave short presentations on the first steps and developments in the implementation of national MPIs. China, South Africa, Honduras, Vietnam and Turkey are among the countries that presented their experiences. Representatives from Costa Rica, Senegal and the Philippines were interviewed about their national MPI work. 

OPHI researchers presented the main findings and analysis of the Global MPI and announced the launch of the book “Multidimensional Poverty Measurement and Analysis". 

At the end of the meeting, the network participants released a joint Communiqué expressing their support for the inclusion of a Global MPI within the SDGs.
