Pobreza multidimensional en Colombia 2023

National MPI Reports

In April 2024, the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) published Colombia’s latest MPI results, based on the Encuesta Nacional de Calidad de Vida (ENCV) 2023 and expanded by population projections from the Censo National de Población y Vivienda (CNPV).

Colombia’s MPI methodology was designed by the National Planning Department (DNP), using the Alkire-Foster methodology as a basis, and launched in 2011. In 2012, the CONPES 150 established that DANE was the entity in charge of estimating and publishing indicators for monitoring monetary and multidimensional poverty.

Colombia’s National MPI is composed of five dimensions:
1) household educational conditions
2) conditions of children and youth
3) health
4) employment
5) access to public services and housing conditions.
