OPHI taught a two week summer school on multidimensional poverty in Spanish this month, from 6-17 December, at the Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) in Santiago, Chile. Forty people participated in the course, including students, policy makers and technical experts from government offices in Latin American countries.
The summer school was co-organised by OPHI and CEPAL, the Ministry of Planning, Chile (MIDEPLAN) and the Foundation for Overcoming Poverty (FSP). It was part of the Programme to Support Social Cohesion EU-Chile implemented by various public institutions to promote policies that help overcome inequality and promoting social dialogue. In its first phase, the programme had funding of 20.5 million euros, provided equally by the European Union and the Government of Chile, under the coordination of the International Cooperation Agency of Chile (ACGI).
