Dasho Karma Ura, President of the Centre for Bhutan and GNH Studies, and Visiting Fellow at OPHI, will present his most recent two-volume book The Unremembered Nation – Bhutan in which he provides a profound understanding of Bhutanese culture, society and history. These volumes are a unique and enthralling treasure trove of knowledge and shared wisdom about the complex and little-known society and culture of Bhutan, and a reflection on Karma Ura’s personal experience of the land and its people.
Dinah Rose, Magdalen President, Sabina Alkire, OPHI Director, and Sir Simon Bowes Lyon KCVO, President of The Bhutan Society of the United Kingdom, joined Karma Ura to discuss his extensive research and field work which brings his account of Bhutan to life. The renowned speakers also invited the audience to reflect on the inevitable changes all nations go through.
