The OPHI team has been teaching a summer school in Amman, Jordan in September. The course attracted 36 participants from 24 countries this year, ranging from Iraq to Indonesia. Participants include doctoral students, academics, those working in government offices of statistics and planning, and staff of international organisations. This intensive short course provides a thorough conceptual and technical introduction to quantitative techniques of multidimensional poverty and inequality comparison, drawing on the capability approach. Materials from the summer school will be posted on our short courses page.
The Human Development and Capability Association Conference followed the summer school on 21-23 September. Read abstracts of the conference papers.
