OPHI Research Associate and Co-Founder John Hammock gave a lecture via a video link-up to a course on human development in Managua, Nicaragua, on Saturday 6 July 2013.
The one-day course, titled ‘Diplomado Debates actuales in Desarollo Humano’, was held by the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Nicaragua and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua (UNAN) in Managua, in association with UNDP’s ‘Virtual School’.
The course features a number of presentations given by experts from around the globe, on the themes of human development, public policy, and ways of measuring well-being. Hammock’s presentation focused on the conceptual aspects of multidimensional poverty measurement, as well as the importance of a multidimensional approach.
