UNDP Meetings in Kathmandu and Delhi OPHI Director Sabina Alkire presented the Multidimensional Poverty Index in meetings hosted by UNDP and attended by government, media and international agencies in August.

Meetings in Bhutan Sabina Alkire gave a public lecture on the Multidimensional Poverty Index, organised by the Centre for Bhutan Studies in conjunction with the Royal Institute of Management.

DFID Seminar Sabina Alkire and OPHI Research Officer Maria Emma Santos presented a seminar in the Chief Economist Seminar Series at the UK’s Department for International Development on the Multidimensional Poverty Index on 27 September.

University of Manchester Seminar Sabina Alkire will present a seminar on the Multidimensional Poverty Index at the University of Manchester on 12 October.

International Poverty Reduction Centre in China Sabina Alkire will participate in the ‘Global Poverty Reduction and Development Forum’ give a keynote speech at the ‘Celebrity Forum’, entitled ‘What can we learn from new multi dimensional poverty measurement for national poverty monitoring and analysis?’ on 17-18 October.

OECD Multidimensional Welfare and Poverty Measurement Workshop Sabina Alkire and James Foster, Professor of Economics at George Washington University, will present their methodology for measuring multidimensional poverty at this OECD workshop in Paris on 26 October.
