Amartya Sen to speak on anti-poverty campaigning in London on 22 January

OPHI’s advisor Amartya Sen, the Nobel prize-winning economist and Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University, is to give a lecture titled ‘Poverty: The Tolerance of the Intolerable‘, at the London School of Economics (LSE) on Wednesday, January 22 2014, from 6.30-8pm.

In the talk, which has been organised by Prospect Magazine and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Sen will discuss the economic and moral issues facing anti-poverty campaigners today. The lecture will be chaired by Bronwen Maddox from Prospect, with Tony Stoller, Chair of JRF Trustees, giving the welcome address.
