Biography

Cai Heath joined OPHI as the Project Coordinator in June 2015. Prior to this appointment he has over nine years’​ experience of managing global health and poverty reduction programmes. In 2010 Cai completed an MSc in International Development at the University of Birmingham specialising in sustainable development and aid management.

Cai has worked, volunteered and researched extensively in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand, India, Nepal and Kenya as well as engaging in shorter project work in Ethiopia, Myanmar and Uganda. Between 2011-2015 he worked as a Programme Manager for the Partnership for Child Development, Imperial College London, supporting governments and United Nations agencies to provide comprehensive and inclusive health services for school-aged children. He is the founding chair of the international development charity InterVol which connects non-governmental grass-roots poverty reduction and conservation organisations with student volunteers from five leading universities.
